Young actor’s movie shines

Actor/screenwriter Shayne Pax’s movie is a gem. His movie “Peridot” is available on Amazon Prime, Apple, Google Play, VUDU and video on demand.
Shayne also directed and co-produced the film, which is named after the August gemstone and tells the story of Gabriel, a male prostitute played by Shayne who develops a friendship with an older woman portrayed by Susan Harmon.
The director said the premiere is the result of an extensive amount of work.
“This film took 5-plus years to come to fruition,” Shayne said. “The quarantine period completely altered our original timeline. I’m so thankful we took this time to take inventory and shape the film into what it became. The film is the culmination of so many people putting their passion into this. Seeing the film land worldwide distribution and begin its festival run is a dream come true.”

The film boasts an impressive array of images, including ones evoking scenes by legendary director Stanley Kubrick, and earnest performances. Shayne employs subtlety playing the protagonist and in directing the film.
The director said the story is a heartwarming tale tackling difficult subject matter in a unique presentation. He described the movie as inclusive by appealing to all groups of people with its tale of characters’ interaction and development.
“I think this is a film for everyone, all ages, all genders, etc.,” Shayne said. “At the core, this is a film about human intimacy and connection. All the glossy, provocative exteriors lure you in only to realize all the characters are screaming into the void for love and for a chance. I think anyone can receive something from this film.”
