Blake Clunes likes helping people, lending his expertise in music and fitness.

The 18-year-old Australian demonstrates workouts and his musical gifts on his YouTube channel.

Blake said he share his fitness journey to motivate and teach others.

"With my content, I primarily enjoy entertaining people," he said. "But I love to motivate those who are struggling with fitness to either get started or work harder than last time. I love seeing progress from others and not just myself. If my videos just helped my followers get off the couch and into the gym, that’s everything to me."

On YouTube, Blake shows viewers how he maintains his muscular frame and how he regulates his diet - something that's difficult to impart on others.

"For me, the hardest thing to do is help people with their diet," he said. "Many people can easily associate the gym with getting bigger or smaller, but not everyone thinks of the most important step, being the diet."

Blake stressed the importance of burning more calories than consuming them to lose weight and eating enough of the right foods to gain weight.

"The only thing I wish I knew earlier was the importance of dieting," he said. "I knew that it was important, but I didn't start seeing massive progress until I started tracking my calories. If I started doing that a bit earlier, I might be a bit further than I am now. But I am quite happy with what I have done."

Despite Blake's massive size, his goal is fitness, not bodybuilding.

"I think it's just genetics," he said about his size.

Blake started focusing in fitness a few years ago.

My biggest advice for those wanting to start getting fit is to do it. Give it a shot. There’s nothing to lose, only gain. Set yourself a goal and shoot for it.

"In late 2018, I looked at myself in the mirror and was unhappy with what I looked like," he said. "I decided to start the gym with two of my mates, figuring out things as we go. Every day was arm day and we did vigorous cardio every session. We wanted to take our progress further, so we moved to a different gym in 2019 and started going at 5 a.m. every morning. Although we got quite lazy on the holidays, this was my first big progress - still trying to lose my previous body fat, not bulking as of yet. Then 2020 came and lost everything. Once we got out of lockdown in October 2020, we instantly joined up for the gym again to get back on the grind. This time, it was serious. Five days a week, no cheats, tracking calories and taking basic supplements. I have been going consistently, even through all the lockdowns since that day. I started three years, but only have been training for about one-and-a-half years."

Blake also wants to instruct others about his other passion: music.

"I've been playing guitar for 10 years now," he said. "I've always liked music."

On Blake's YouTube channel, he plays an acoustic version of Alan Walker's "Faded."

Blake plans on teaching music at the secondary school level.

He also enjoys working on cars, spending time on his Commodore.

"I'm a car dude," Blake said.

Although he works on the engine, the interior is the most vital spot for him.

"It's where you spend the most time," Blake said.

He dispensed wisdom to those wanting to become fitter.

"My biggest advice for those wanting to start getting fit is to do it," Blake said. "Give it a shot. There’s nothing to lose, only gain. Set yourself a goal and shoot for it. Ask others for help to make your first few months easier. Just get through the first month or two of serious work. It gets easier after that."

Blake works out five days a week.

He also stated how people should stay galvanized.

"Nobody has to motivate themselves to play video games or watch the television, because they enjoy it," Blake explained. "Therefore, if you want to be motivated to go to the gym or start a fitness journey, you must enjoy it. Of course, you’re not going to be able to motivate yourself four to six times a week to do something that you don’t enjoy, so enjoy it. Find an interest in the science behind the body. Think of shaping the body as a form of art. Become addicted to the progress. Do whatever helps you. Everyone is different and has different goals."

Whether it be fitness, music or any other endeavor, Blake's goal remains the same.

"I like helping people."
